DIY: Homemade Cat Litter (Experience and Review)

My cats (pictured above) have seriously perfected the look of disinterest and judgment.  If I ever lose my humility, I need not to look far for a remedy.  And...kitties!!!

So, a couple of weeks ago, I made a post (HERE) about how I make my own cat litter.  Yes.  Cat litter.

I have been using it exclusively for awhile now, and I thought I would share my experience and maybe answer some questions that y'all may have.

A bit of a slow week, but I don't sign up for every offer that comes along.  I only sign up for samples that I am interested in and will most definitely use.  So, I'm still thankful and happy.

Big Lots Mini Haul

I got another Buzz Club coupon for $5 off a $20+ purchase.  So, I just to go back to Big Lots to see what deals were to be had.

Coupon Trip: Kroger

I had a couple of $5 OYNO coupons that were expiring.  So, I had to head to Kroger to pick up some pretty good deals.  

Coupon Trip: CVS

My grand total for today was $1.78 out of pocket.  Yes, I still got it!

I got some great freebies in the old rusty mail box this week.  Yes!

DIY: Make Your Own Cat Litter

I ran across a recipe awhile back on how to make your own cat litter from newspaper.

I coupon a lot and our nearest recycling center is quite a drive.  Most of the time, you can't even recycle your newpaper anyway, because the bin is overflowing.  They also don't take any other kind of paper--not even computer paper.

This means I have paper in abundance, and I just can't throw it directly in the trash.  It's just too dang wasteful and just doesn't feel right.

We are big DYI-ers in my house and already make a lot of our own stuff so...why not?

If it gets those stupid smelly and dusty litter rocks and my pile of recyclable paper out of my house, it will be more than worth it.

Big Lots had their Friends and Family 20% off Event this past Saturday and Sunday.  I hit it up Saturday when it was the Buzz Card only day, and I got a lot of stuff.  I love Big Lots!

Dollar Tree had some great things that I had never seen before.  I got a bunch of stationary supplies, collapsible canvas storage bins, and even a couple of glass nail files.  Yes!

Kmart is doubling coupons this week that value up to $2.  (Doubled coupons are limited to 5 per day per SYWR member.)  There was also no purchase requirement this time.  Yay!

I was already out in town.  So, I just had to see what deals I could get.
