Family Dollar Haul: A Few Finds

I went into Family Dollar to get cat food with my $5 off $25 coupon.  They didn't have enough of the cat food that I wanted.  So, I bought a few other things to get me up to my $25 total.

Queen Helene Oatmeal 'N Honey Scrub - $3

I picked this up, because I heard from a friend that it is even better than the St. Ives Oatmeal mask scrub that I love.  We shall see.  (I haven't gotten to try it yet, because I have been without plumbing for almost 2 weeks.  Fun winter times.)  I do really love the Mint Julep mask from this brand.  So, I have high hopes.

I really do hope that it is good, because this isn't something that I can coupon like the St. Ives one.  So, $3 for a single product is a pretty steep price for skin care for me.

Pink Leopard House Shoes - on clearance - $2.50

I actually already have a pair of these that I got around holiday time that I love.  I paid $6 for them back then.  They are great, but I've about worn them out.  I'm death on house shoes.  So, I was happy to get them for less than half of what I had initially paid.

Family Dollar Baking Soda - on clearance - $.40

This isn't that great of a deal, because baking soda this size is usually between $.45-$.50 at Kroger everyday.  I was in the moment, though.  Sometimes, those markdown signs fool me.  Just because there is a sale tag on something doesn't mean it's a crazy good deal.

Glade 8pk Wax Melts in Clean Linen - $3.00
 - used: $1/1 glade product coupon

I went ahead and grabbed this for a package that I am putting together for one of my friends.  She has been wanting a nice, fresh laundry scent.  I was going to wait, but I think my Family Dollar may be phasing out wax melts.

I had been there just a few days before this, and there were several brands and fragrances.  This time, this was the only wax melt pack to be found in the entire store.  I hope that they keep carrying the name brand ones, because with the exception of a couple fragrances their brand melts are complete garbage.

Homebright Gel Home Freshener in Cranberry Pomegranate and Clementine Evergreen - on clearance - $.75

Can you believe that my store still has their holiday stuff at just 50% off?  Stores just won't mark stuff down this year.

I went ahead and picked these up, because I have wanted to try out some of these type of air fresheners for quite awhile.  With 2 cats in our tiny tiny little minuscule home, there is no such thing as too many air fresheners.

The Clementine Evergreen is a dream.  I can't really smell any Evergreen in it, but it literally smells like fresh squeezed orange juice.  It's just spot on fresh citrus fruit.

The Cranberry Pomegranate doesn't smell bad, but it doesn't smell like a cranberry nor a pomegranate.  It smells like soap.  It's nice but misleading.

As for the performance, meh.  Haha!  The fragrance doesn't go out from the product but a foot or two.  We have it on the bathroom sink.  So, you get a light scent when you bend down to wash your hands but nothing more than that.
