Sunday Newspaper Insert Coupons (Knoxville Area)

We got 2 inserts this week: SmartSource and P&G

After getting a couple of emails, I thought I would switch it up.  Instead of going off of another list, I'll now make my own.

(I'll still link to other previews on Saturdays, because I'm not cool enough to get early inserts.)

In other words, instead of doing "differences" to another list, I'll just list all the coupons that came in my local paper.  (Knoxville News Sentinel)

I'll make notes in the older posts as well as change the tags as time allows in the next day or so.  (Nursing a severely ill kitty is taking most my time today.  :(   My poor Jasper, it's breaking my cat lady heart.)

Is this better than before?  If not, let me know either through email, comments, or google+.

I'll also try to get these out a bit earlier.  I thought I would today, but I severely underestimated how long these would take to type up.  (Kudos to all the other people who have been typing up these kinds of coupon lists for awhile.)

To the new, and hopefully improved coupon list!

Sunday Coupon Insert Differences (Knoxville Area)

Like before, I am going off of the full lists on Sunday Coupon Preview.

This post is just to show what the differences were in my regional newspaper.  (Knoxville News Sentinel)

We were supposed to get 2 inserts in this paper: SmartSource and RedPlum

But, for whatever reason, both the newspapers I got, one in my mailbox and the extra one I bought at the gas station, were missing the RedPlum.

I'm bummed, there were supposed to be some great coupons in there.  Sorry guys, but I still did the Smartsource below.  (This is not the first time this has happened...blah)

To coupons!

Coupon Trip: Target (Awesome Pet Food Deals!)

Went into the city in search of great deals once again:

Curious about whether the coupons I mention below are still available or what coupons are out there for another product?  Check a coupon database.  I personally use the one at CouponLikeAMan HERE.

The pet food deal mentioned below is good until Saturday.  You can clip it from the ad or get it on your smartphone. (Not sure what exactly you text to get it, but there were signs all over my Target.)

Also, your Target may have slightly different prices and all that.

On to the goods!

I did two transactions: $10 off $40 pet food deal and then another one with my other deals.  I thought it may make it easier if problems popped up.  (But none did!  My cashier today was absolutely stellar!)

Transaction #1 ($10 off $40 Pet Food/Litter Deal)

The goods:

(4)  Iams 2.9lb Dry Cat Food @ $4.69 each
 - used: (4) $2 off 1 printable coupons

(12) Iams Wet Dog Food @ $1.20 each
 - used: (4) $2 off 3 cans printable coupons

(9) Pedigree Wet Dog Food @ $.72 each
 - used: (3) B2G1 newspaper coupons
 - Bonus: These actually auto-deducted the full $.99 value!!

(4) Friskies Wet Cat Food @ $.47

used: Target In-Ad Coupon for $10 off $40 in dog and cat food or litter (excludes treats/rawhides)
 - also, the catalina machine spit out a coupon for $.75 that she went ahead and applied (best cashier ever!)

Subtotal:  $11.08

***Could have actually gotten this a tiny bit cheaper.  I realized that there was a Cartwheel offer for 5% off the Friskies cans after I got home.  Oh well...still happy.

Want to see what this looks like on the receipt:

Remember:  You can stack coupons at Target like I did with the manufacturer coupons on top of the $10 Target coupon to get awesome savings.  For each item, you are allowed to use a target coupon, a manufacturer coupon, and a Target Cartwheel offer.  (Target Coupon Policy)

Transaction #2

The goods:

(2) La Croix Curate 8pk @ $3.79 each
(2) La Croix 8pk @ $3.00
 - used:  (2) BO curate GO La Croix 8pk FREE printable
Price:  $7.58 for 4 or $1.89 each

(4) Beneful Healthy Smile Dog Treat @ 2 for $7.50
 - used: (2) BOGO newspaper coupons
 - used: (1) $.50/1 target coupon
Price: $7 for 4 or $1.75 each

(1) Suave Professional Natural Infusions Conditioner @ $2.99 each
 - used: (1) $1.50 off 1 printable coupon
 - used: (1) $1.50 off 1 target coupon
Price: FREE

Subtotal:  $14.57

-----

Oh yes!  Target is slowly becoming one of my favorite places to shop.  Between all the coupons and offers they have been running lately, I feel spoiled.  (Especially compared to how I get treated at Walmart.  I'll save that for another post though.  So done with Walmart.  I'll pay more to not ever have to go there again and I am cheap as all get out.)

When The Couponing Gods Don't Smile on You

(Warning: Rant Below)

Y'all I don't even want to talk about my Walmart trip today.  (But I will anyway haha)  It took my over an hour to checkout.  AN HOUR... Like, this stuff was all I got with the exception of some more White Cloud TP from my last Walmart post.  (Only 4 pks too!)  No price matches.  Nothing weird.

The cashier made me hand her my coupons as I went for each item instead of doing them at the end.  She, then held them up and scrutinized every one.  Really...for each item even if it was an identical item and coupon!

Then, to top it off, she tried to say that I was paying with a fraudulent credit card.  What?!  (I had to produce my ID, and then she called a manager over.  I don't understand.  My stuff is all legit.  Why do you make me hate you, Walmart?)  I was afraid I was going to get the cops called on me or something like has happened to several other couponers.

Like, for real...my receipt is a mess.  It has several subtotals on it, and I had to pull out the coupon policy to even get her to scan my razor coupons.  (Has their training gotten even worse?  Does it still exist?)

Then, I had to wrangle with customer service, because she missed a few of my coupons.  I was told basically, "too bad so sad"  because the girl was too lazy to process it basically.  (I worked customer service at my last job and this crap makes me cringe.)

Ugh...I'll either lay off Walmart for awhile or switch to the one a bit further out.  Like who trained these people?  I would be fired so fast if I pulled even half of this crap.  Do. Not. Understand.

Makes me appreciate wonderful places like Ingles, Kroger, and CVS way more.  The workers there are always stellar.  If only a Publix would grace my area, then I could cut out Walmart completely.  Sigh...

CVS: L'Oreal Youth Code and More

Second Trip to CVS this week...couldn't resist the email coupons!  Free stuff is always worth a trip into town...oh yeah!

The deals below are from this week's ad.  (Good thru 3/8)

The coupons I mentioned below may or may not still be available for print.  You can always check a coupon database.  I use the one at Couponlikeaman (found HERE) most often.  You can just type "L'oreal" or whatever into the search bar, and it will tell you most, if not all, of the available coupons out there.

Okay, back to my trip...

I did this in two transactions:

Transaction #1

[L'Oreal Skin Care ECB Deal: Spend $30, get 10 ECBs back]

L'Oreal Paris Youth Code Day Lotion Moisturizer with SPF 30 - $24.99
 - used: $5 off $20 in L'Oreal Products printable

L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Cream Cleanser - $7.49
 - used: $1 off 1 L'Oreal skin care item printable

used: $4 off $20 beauty purchase (CVS Email Coupon)
used: 20% off CVS email coupon  (took off $5.70)
used: 8.74 ECBs

Subtotal: $8.04 (got back 10 ECBs)***

***There is also a $10 mail in rebate for L'Oreal Revitalift, Youth Code, and Age Perfect when you spend $30 in one transaction.  The PDF can be found HERE, or you can just search "loreal rebate" in google

After rebate, the total really is:  -$1.96 (money maker!!!)

...and I'm still not even counting the 10 ECBs I got back. Oh yeah!

Transaction #2

(4) Cover Girl Glosstinis (Catching Fire series) Polishes - BOGO1/2off ($3.79, $1.89)
 - used: (2) $3 off 2 Covergirl products (3/2 P&G)

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat - $7.49

Gold Emblem Jelly Beans - $.99

used: 10 ECBs from transaction #1

Subtotal: $3.49 (got back $5.99 in ECBs: $.99 from the jelly beans and 5 from beauty club)

---

So both transactions together: $11.53 before rebate and ECBs (AKA what actually came out of my wallet today sans tax)

After L'Oreal rebate:  $1.53

After rebate and ECBs: $0 ($4.46 money maker)

Also, I think I officially have all the Catching Fire Glosstinis. Haha!  I actually think they look really ugly in the bottle, but I couponed some down anyway to try.  And...now I am obsessed! The colors are gorgeous on the nail!  Seriously the bottle doesn't do these justice at all....

(Some Walmarts have these on clearance for $3 each as well, if that's more your thing.)

A Note About the L'Oreal Youth Code:

Look for a package with the FREE trial size sticker on it (in the photo) and you get a FREE sample of Sublime Sun (.5 FL oz.)  Nice little bonus!

This is my first really expensive face stuff (note the well-informed, technical term haha).  I'm been curious to try this out and see how it compares to my normal regime of coconut oil.  We shall see....*ominous music*

CVS: Nail Polish and More

Since I have been on a nail polish kick lately, I wanted to run to CVS and get some of the winter colors before they get replaced with the spring collections.  (I'll buy tons of those too.  Don't worry.)

I did this all in one transaction today.  I just honestly didn't have too much time to fiddle and figure today.  Yes, sometimes it is just easier to pay a few extra bucks even for an avid couponer like me.  Haha!  I'll go back to multiple transactions and complicated shopping lists next time.  I just wanted cute polish, dang it!  :)

The goods:

Sally Hansen Gel Cuticle Remover - $5.49

Sally Hansen Strengthening Top Coat - $4.49

(3) Maybelline Color Show Nail Polishes - $4.29 each ($12.87)
 - used: (3) $1 off 1 Color Show Polish (redplum.com)

(2) Wet N Wild Polishes - 2/$3***

(2) Cover Girl (.11oz Catching Fire Series) Polishes - BOGO1/2 off - $3.79; $1.89
 - used: $1 off P&G item (prints at the red machine in store)
 - used: $3/2 covergirl products (3/2 P&G insert)

Cadbury Egg - $.87  (Didn't last long enough for the picture, YUM!)

St. Ives Lemon and Mandarin Orange Scrub - $4.49
 - used: $1.50/1 St. Ives Facial Scrub (cvs coupon)

Used: 14 ECBs
Used: 20% off email coupon

Subtotal: 13.05 (67% savings)
Received: 13.87 ECBs (5 from Sally Hansen, 3 from Maybelline, .87 from Cadbury, and 5 from Beauty Club)

Will also get $1 rebate from SavingStar for the St. Ives Scrub. Whoohoo!

***There is a $1 off 1 Wet n Wild Coupon on coupons.com right now as well.  I didn't see it until I got back from shopping.  Oh well, guess I'll have to buy even more polish.  Darn, so awful.
